Mullein and Purslane herbal tincture by Rhodes Herbs — from seed to shelf, grown and made in small batches. 1 fl oz (30 mL), made with alcohol.
About these herbs
This blend pairs two soft, soothing plants. Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) leaf and flower have a long record in European herbal traditions as demulcent herbs used for the respiratory tract; the European Medicines Agency’s herbal committee has a monograph on mullein flower for traditional use in soothing an irritated throat and dry cough. Purslane (Portulaca oleracea), whose thick, succulent leaves and stems are also eaten as a vegetable, appears in traditional medicine across many cultures as a cooling, moistening herb, and published scientific reviews describe both its nutritional profile and the pharmacological research it has attracted. Together they make a gentle, old-fashioned combination.
Suggested use
Shake well. Adults: take 1–2 droppersful (about 1–2 mL) in a little water or under the tongue, up to 3 times daily. Start at the lower amount and see how you respond.
