About this herb
Holy basil — tulsi (Ocimum sanctum, also listed as Ocimum tenuiflorum) — is one of the most revered plants in Ayurvedic medicine, grown around homes and temples in India for centuries. Ayurvedic practitioners traditionally used it as an “adaptogen” for everyday stress and stamina, and for coughs, colds, fevers, and digestion. A review of the human research calls tulsi Ayurveda’s preeminent herb, studied for its traditional roles in metabolic health, immunity, and mental stress.
Suggested use
Shake well. Adults: take 1–2 droppersful (about 1–2 mL) in a little water or under the tongue, up to 3 times a day. Start at the lower amount and see how you do.

Caution & disclaimer: This information is educational only and has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Talk with your doctor or another qualified healthcare professional for professional advice before using herbal products — especially if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a medical condition. Holy basil may lower blood sugar and slow blood clotting, so check with your doctor first if you take diabetes medicine or a blood thinner, or if you have surgery coming up. Avoid it during pregnancy — animal studies raised fertility concerns and human safety data are limited.
